The most beautiful beds for little princesses

Comparison of the most popular princess beds from Disney, Ikea & Co. You should definitely pay attention to this when buying in order to avoid bad purchases.

Every princess deserves her own kingdom.

A princess bed naturally tops it all off. For magical sleep and royal dreams

  • Such beds stimulate our children’s imagination
  • They ensure healthy sleep and optimal development
  • Many models have exciting additional functions

A bed for little princesses is a cot 2.0 specially developed for girls with many additional functions and features.

With predominantly pink and playful designs, they set themselves apart from the ‘normal children’s beds’ for girls.

Now there are no limits to the imagination and there is not just one princess bed. On the contrary: With the huge selection of many different models, you can quickly and easily lose track of things.

  • This buying guide is intended to help you choose the princess bed and to provide you with helpful background information.
  • I am going to explain all the things you need to consider before buying such a bed.

Reading tip for boys and girls with different interests: The best car beds in comparison .

In addition, I would like to give you one or two pieces of advice. But first of all, briefly describe the advantages and disadvantages of a princess bed.

Advantages of a princess bed over ‘normal children’s beds’

Perhaps you suspect that, besides the royal look, there is absolutely no advantage for your daughter in such a princess bed.

This is not the case and there are some advantages that I would like to briefly show you:

You strengthen your daughter’s healthy self-confidence

Almost every girl wants to be a princess once in a lifetime. With the right bed you can make your daughter’s wish come true.

A little boost of childlike self-confidence is almost guaranteed with a princess bed!

  • She will never cease to be amazed and will proudly tell all her friends and relatives about her wonderful place to sleep. For the children’s room, it is more than just an eye-catcher.
  • How many other girls can claim to sleep in a castle or a royal litter? Your daughter will be infinitely grateful to you for purchasing a princess bed.

Of course, a good opportunity to earn the imaginary title of ‘Father / Mother of the Year’.

Your daughter will adore you for purchasing the princess bed!

You are responding to your daughter’s interests and stimulating her creativity. Girls need dreams and should dream. With a princess bed for your daughter, you can dream this dream together.

More storage space and many additional functions

Many beds for little princesses have exciting additional functions that ordinary children’s beds do not always have.

As it should be for a true princess, all kinds of toys, utensils and entertainment have to be cleverly stowed away.

Extra storage space or additional storage space make this possible.

At the same time, your daughter learns to keep her kingdom in order.

Everything belongs in its place, of course, and the princess bed offers plenty of hiding spots. I really liked the creative approaches and fine details in the design of the beds.

The right timing is crucial

Now it is not just about the right model of a princess bed for girls. The right timing is crucial.

To reward your daughter for a goal she has achieved, such a bed might be perfect. The reason for the reward can be very different:

  • When she goes to kindergarten or school
  • To motivate them and train them without the parents falling asleep alone
  • As the perfect birthday or Christmas present

With the right and clever timing, you can fulfill several additional benefits for your daughter at the same time. Ordinary children’s beds do not have as great a rewarding effect as a princess bed.

With all the advantages, the disadvantages of a princess bed should of course not go unmentioned.

Disadvantages compared to normal cots

However, the disadvantages are limited. Some are more my personal subjective feeling.

That may be different from your perspective than mine.

Limited usage period

It is obvious: the princess bed will of course not be able to accompany your daughter through her entire childhood or adolescence.

At some point the maximum age for such a bed will simply be reached.

The little princess will eventually grow up to be queen and the whole child’s room will have to be replaced.

This not only applies to toys and clothing, but also to sleeping aids such as baby pillows or the bed. The following bed will be in a rather simpler design. And what happens to the old princess bed?

It is not easy to determine the exact period of use of a princess bed. It depends very much on your daughter’s individual preferences and is difficult to quantify.

Count on a period of 5-10 years – at the latest with the growth spurt in puberty a new bed will then be due.

If your daughter has been romping and bouncing in this bed the entire time, then after years of use it is unlikely to find a buyer.

Unless your daughter has a little sister to whom you can leave this bed without hesitation, sooner or later it will probably end up in the bulky waste.

It is not impossible that you will find a buyer for a used princess bed.

But regardless of possible signs of use and visual defects that appear over time, it can be said that a princess bed is more of a new purchase than a used purchase.

Because when it comes to the quality, condition and safety of a cot, we parents prefer to trust new models rather than used ones.

Princess beds are usually more expensive

The many great and unmistakable designs unfortunately also have the disadvantage of the high price.

What has only been produced in small numbers cannot have the same low price as a mass-produced product.

Unfortunately, princess beds are no exception.

  • Here, too, you have to shell out one or two additional euros that you would not have to pay for a normal cot.
  • This should in no way diminish the great benefit of a children’s bed in a princess design. These beds are worth the investment nonetheless.

For parents with a limited budget, it can unfortunately be a major obstacle or even exclusion criterion.

You still have to take care of a new mattress

Not all manufacturers supply mattresses in the princess beds they offer.

Few manufacturers offer mattresses that are of poor quality and very thin.

  • For this reason, I would rather recommend a more professional mattress made of thicker material and of higher quality.
  • So if you do not have a mattress in the right size of the princess bed in stock, you have to upgrade or upgrade anyway.

You can find buying guides and test reports on many topics for the optimal sleep of our children at www.sleepwithjoy.com :

These are just a few useful articles on the right children’s bedroom products. In these and other articles on our site, you will find additional literature on the right sleeping equipment for your child.

You have to screw the princess bed together yourself

This disadvantage is ‘not a real disadvantage’, but rather a ‘perceived disadvantage’. You might as well enjoy building a princess bed.

These beds are delivered disassembled and, depending on the equipment and workmanship, it can take a long time before the young princess can finally spend the night in your bed for the first time.

  • Princesses can be pretty impatient. Perhaps you will be able to assemble the bed with your daughter.
  • But when the time comes, you will have had a great wish come true. This works best with the following princess beds.

Let me introduce you to a few models and explain why I think they are a good choice for your own daughter.

Disney princess beds

Disney is not only represented in our children’s bedrooms with films and toys.

You can also purchase an entire princess-themed Disney themed bed.

Fall-out protection is attached to the sides for a safe and restful night’s sleep. So your daughter cannot fall out of bed. The fall protection takes up about half the length.

  • Two fabric drawers under the bed provide additional storage space to organize the children’s room.
  • They can be opened in both directions, so you can set up the bed flexibly where you want.

Or you can remove the two fabric drawers completely. Even without the two drawers, your daughter will theoretically have the same storage space for toys.

And another new hiding place. In addition, the air then circulates better in the room.

A mattress is not included. The manufacturer states that the mattress size is 143 x 77 cm.

However, these dimensions can only be custom-made. Because the usual mattress size is 70 × 140 cm and can be used for this bed without hesitation.

Another model is also quite unusual

Your daughter sleeps in a sleigh that is designed in the design of ‘Frozen’. The fall protection is almost as authentic as with a real sled. It hardly gets safer.

  • Furthermore, the sledge has a drawer and a shelf and offers your daughter more opportunities to organize the children’s room.
  • The material of the princess bed consists of medium-density fibreboard and weighs a total of 37 kilograms. However, it looks very stable and well made in the photo.

I really like the design of this princess bed. Many of the characters from the film are depicted on it and the color tones are chosen in a good combination of blue and pink.

Disney also offers three cheaper princess beds from ‘Frozen’ in 70 × 140 cm. Although they are not sleds, they are similarly great models with additional storage space as an integrated drawer.

  • Design 1*
  • Design 2*
  • Design 3*

Heavenly carriages

What could be nicer and more imaginative than sleeping in a carriage for your daughter?

Many parents have reported that this bed made their daughters finally sleep alone in their own children’s room. But only as a side note and a small additional argument.

But the canopy is really cool (the pomp and ornamental roof of the carriage), which is attached with LED lights.

  • The princess bed literally shines in a new splendor. You would have also provided a night light if your daughter is scared in the dark alone.
  • With its slightly smaller dimensions, this princess bed in a carriage design is more suitable for young princesses up to 6 years of age. So it is ideal as the first own cot.

By the way, there is also a model without lighting from the same manufacturer. But it has additional storage space in the form of drawers and a seat

With these two themed beds for girls you will meet the royal demands of your daughter.

But there is a third carriage that I would like to introduce to you. This does not have a comic look, but a rather elegant and puristic design.

This carriage is made entirely of wood, is robust and heavy. Safety and quality come first here.

This is of course also noticeable in the price. In contrast to the two aforementioned carriages, this model is significantly more expensive.

This princess bed has a fully secured fall protection. This is not uniformly high, which is due to the beautiful and playful design.

Buying tip: These starry sky projectors create a great atmosphere in the bedroom.

Nevertheless, the fall protection is high enough and offers sufficient safety in the night before falls.

There is a small ladder to get into the carriage and onto the bed. But it is not a loft bed, because we are only talking about two small steps.

The ladder itself is safe and harmless.

  • It is not a vertical ladder. It’s about an ordinary entry point, as we know it from carriages and larger cars.
  • A slatted frame is included, the mattress is not. The insertion depth of the mattress is approx. 15 cm. More than enough for a comfortable sleep.

The princess bed has a lying area of 90 x 200 cm and is therefore suitable for the larger princesses.

Loft beds for princesses

The following example has a very high price, but is almost a whole playground and comes with many exciting additional functions.

Note that shipping is only up to the curb. The princess bed has a very high quality and solid beech wood.

So it can be quite exhausting if you are allowed to carry the 128 kilograms into the children’s room.

  • Incidentally, the slide can be mounted on the left or right. This gives you freedom in the ideal design of the bedroom. In this way, the little princess can flexibly (co-) determine where the bed should be set up.
  • The lying area of this princess bed is 90x200cm. In terms of size, that extends to the elderly and elderly of a little princess.

As an indication of correct care, the manufacturer also notes that no solvent-based or abrasive cleaning agents should be used.

In my opinion, there is a little lack of the right color for young women.

The wood of this princess bed is white. After all, the fabric set consisting of curtains and bags provides a bit of color and variety.

  • But overall I would have liked a few more vibrant colors for the girls than the cool white.
  • So you would have to take care of even more colorful shades and unusual decorations yourself. But your daughter must already have certain ideas …

The manufacturer sells the same model in a different color at a lower price.

In my opinion, the color combination in natural tones fits a little better than before in sterile white.

In terms of construction, the princess bed is the same in terms of materials. According to the description, however, it weighs 12 kilograms less than the white model.

Of course, this difference cannot just be the color. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find out what this 12 kilogram difference makes.

Anyway – luckily, you end up hauling a little less weight.

Combo beds for two princesses

What is even better than a little princess with extravagant wishes and royal grace? Two princesses!

So if you have two little daughters at the same time, you should not favor or disadvantage either of them. You should then seriously consider a princess bed with two beds.

And even if you want to provide a second place to sleep for your daughter’s best friend, this bed is a great idea.

Do you remember the keyword “solid beech” from the last two products?

Again, you can haul a lot. Prepare yourself for a load of 119 kilograms. Your daughters will thank you later.

So it is the same provider as the two loft beds mentioned above. Again, you are advised not to use any solvent-based or abrasive cleaning agents.

This time, too, the color is very white and the royal elements for the little princesses come through the pink fabric covers of the tunnel and the bag. But you can also buy this model in natural colors. * .

But there is another way you can create a sleeping place for two princesses. Not as a loft bed, but as a cleverly designed pull-out bed.

Solid pine ensures rustic and stable quality. Incidentally, the pull-out bed is not permanently installed with the upper bed.

Thus, the pull-out bed can also be set up in another area of the children’s room or in another children’s room. Just as your daughters would like or how your premises allow.

However, the scope of delivery does not include roll mattresses and slatted frames. Stupidly, you have to pay four times the additional costs.

For little offspring princesses

If it says ‘princess’, a princess should sleep in it.

That is the basic idea of the following cot, which was developed as the first cot for the very little girls.

The engraved crown and the word ‘Princess’ should get your daughter used to the title of nobility at an early age. The bed is of course painted in soft pink and white tones. With a child-friendly paintwork according to EU standards.

  • The delivery includes a foam mattress that is 5 cm thick. Other buyers have described this lying surface as too thin.
  • To ensure a high level of sleeping comfort for your little daughter, you should also buy a high quality mattress.

The slatted frame, on the other hand, can be adjusted in three different heights. In this way you can comfortably adjust the lying surface of your little daughter until the best lying position is found.

The rungs on the side of the bed serve as security. However, three side elements can be removed from the bed if necessary. This would enable your daughter to get in and out of bed.

A little additional information that the young princess is probably not interested in, but that calms the parents’ ecological conscience: The pine wood used is from sustainable European forestry

Better not to buy locks

Where do the nobility live?

In magnificent palaces and fortresses. These were also realized with themed beds and can serve as nightly accommodation for your little daughter.

These replicas are of a very mixed quality. While the bed itself is made from solid pine, the entire curtain around the bed is made of mixed polyester fabrics.

In this product example , the total shipping weight should be only 6 kilograms * .

  • Obviously, this is far too easy for a loft bed, even if no slatted frame and mattress are included. In my opinion, an indicator of poor quality.
  • The curtains should be fastened with ribbons. Overall, the entire cot does not seem stable enough and of course the question of safety comes to mind for us parents. What materials are the fabric curtains made of?

Imagine the material from which tents and auxiliary materials are made.

While camping is a great short-term adventure, with a castle-design princess bed, your daughter would be exposed to these fabrics non-stop.

That shouldn’t be a permanent condition for my daughter and I don’t want to ask her to do it.

If the sun shines through the window on the polyester mixture for hours, it may become musty and pollutants could be released.

  • It is possible to wash the curtain and the entire fabric curtain of the castle. So you could do without the entire fabric curtain.
  • Not only would the optical wow effect with the lock then disappear. You would then have bought your daughter a completely normal bunk bed.

Even with the entire structure and all the fabric curtains and covers, the overall structure looks rather cheap. The idea with the lock is really great. The implementation, however, is dubious and visually not fully developed.

A lock with pure wood paneling would be much nicer. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any such wooden princess beds during my research.

For these reasons, I would rather advise against using a castle as a princess bed. It is better to buy a comfortable star blanket and build a cozy cave out of it (it is sure to be just as fun and much cheaper).

How you can build a princess bed yourself

Swing up to be a fatherly hero or a motherly winner and make a princess bed of your own creation for your little daughter.

  • Not only does your daughter have an incredible story to tell about the unique and individual construction of your sleeping place.
  • Even after years, you can be selflessly proud that you have set up your own princess bed for your daughter.

And if you can assemble the princess bed together as a team, all the more harmoniously and better for the whole family.

I want to suggest some great and helpful sources of where to find blueprints and instructions. With this you can build a princess bed yourself.

Easy: For experienced technology enthusiasts

Westfalia is a detailed online shop for everything to do with technology and tools. Basically the right place to go when it comes to doing it yourself.

You can find a construction plan for a Princess bed from Westfalia here. With subtle purple tones, the bed looks a bit plain and not very imaginative.

However, the construction plan is technically very detailed and professional. If you have a creative streak anyway, then you can make up for the small lack of imagination.

Medium: An artistically beautiful princess bed

I was also able to find very detailed assembly instructions from a Bosch DIY community .

  • In these instructions you will not only find illustrated explanations of the individual production steps for the princess bed.
  • The creative creator has put a lot of effort into optics and design to create a great work of art.

You will also find tips for decoration and the most beautiful color and light combinations there.

Of course you want to let your own creativity run free and you can use these building instructions as inspiration.

Your daughter will adore you if you put on such a gem. The cost is estimated at 300 euros and the level of difficulty is described as ‘medium’. So not a thing of the impossibility!

IKEA furniture was also used in this blueprint for the princess bed.

Difficult: a princess bed as a carriage

If you dare to undertake a more advanced construction project, then you are welcome to try another bed design. How about a carriage, for example?

Baumarkt.de has proven that it is not impossible . There you can find the building instructions for a meticulously planned princess bed in the design of a carriage.

Not only worth seeing, but also suitable for imitation. However, you need a well-equipped arsenal of tools for construction.

The finished carriage can be entered from both sides and give your daughter sparkling eyes.

More alternatives in other online shops

There are also many other exciting online shops where you can find even more princess beds.

There you will find models that you cannot find on Amazon.

I would like to briefly list the online stores below where I was a bit inspired on this topic and where I was able to find some great princess beds:

Möbel Höffner – play   bed with slide: An airy, light bed for little princesses for a moderate price. With slide and built-in hiding place.

Woodland – White Bunk Bed: This bed is more pink than white and has a hammock. Good quality, a proud price, but especially suitable for narrow children’s rooms.

Möbel Boss – Bibo Loft Bed Solid Pine : The cheapest model that I could find during my research. Reminds me a bit of camping times from the material. For all princesses on a budget. But with a slide.

Ticaa – Different models: The Ticaa online shop has many princess beds in a simple and elegant design. There were many different models, so I cannot recommend a separate copy to you.

Wayfair – Princess cot : An elegant cot for little princesses. Pink tones with gold decorations and crown decorations transform every child’s room into a palace.

Conclusion

Hopefully I have been able to provide you with enough inspiration and information on the most suitable princess bed for your daughter.

The pink world of princess beds is not complex in nature, but it is diverse in its options.

  • Princess beds are wonderful alternatives to the usual children’s beds for the children’s room.
  • I hope you felt the same way as me and that you were also impressed by one or the other model.

You yourself can best decide which of the models shown best reflects the character of your daughter.

You should seriously think about a princess bed if a new cot is soon on the program anyway.

Then it is worth killing two birds with one stone and investing in a beautiful bed without compromise. I hope this guide has helped you.
